Irish rockers U2 have announced the release date of their highly anticipated new album. No Line On The Horizon, the group's 12th studio album, will be released on March 2 2009. The album was originally slated for release this year, but the band said it was keen to write more songs before unveiling the follow-up to 2005's Grammy-winning How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. No Line On The Horizon was written and recorded in Fez, Morocco - with additional sessions that took place in New York, Dublin and London. Long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois produced the new album, with additional production by Steve Lillywhite. Bono said in a recent interview that the new album "doesn't sound like anything we've done before, and it doesn't really sound like anything that's happening at the moment."
