Irish rockers U2 have announced the release date of their highly anticipated new album.

No Line On The Horizon, the group's 12th studio album, will be released on March 2 2009.

The album was originally slated for release this year, but the band said it was keen to write more songs before unveiling the follow-up to 2005's Grammy-winning How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

No Line On The Horizon was written and recorded in Fez, Morocco - with additional sessions that took place in New York, Dublin and London.

Long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois produced the new album, with additional production by Steve Lillywhite.

Bono said in a recent interview that the new album "doesn't sound like anything we've done before, and it doesn't really sound like anything that's happening at the moment."

Album Review twit by twit

  1. If there is a rocket tie me to me** It has a u2-esque piano...I like it 8/10
  2. Crack the shutters** Slow paced...a little repetitive a very Eyes Open sound 7/10
  3. Take back the city ** I don't know if its the number of times I've heard it...hehe...I like it, good rythm 9/10
  4. Lifeboats ** The first notes of the guitar reminded me of Oasis... 9/10
  5. The Golden Floor** A very death cab for cutie sound on this one...not so sure about the claps though ** 7.5/10
  6. Please just take these photos ** So far so good...the guitar builds up. Not so different from their usual upbeat songs, but I like it 8.5/10
  7. Set down your glass* Reminded me of cranberries- Ode to my family* Maybe it will grow on me,perhaps paying more attention to the lyrics 8/10
  8. The planets bend between us*Love the title...the song not so much, again maybe listening to the lyrics carefully would make a difference 7/10
  9. Engines ** It gets a little repetitive with the "uuuh's" , I liked the chorus though... 8/10
  10. Disaster Button ** Again builds up, sounds a little too much like "take back the city" 8.8/10
  11. The lightning strike** Loved the piano...reminded me of tom yorke... 9.5/10

Album review twit by twit...

Spinning.--- The beginning was a little Death Cab for Cutie, or influenced by Ben Gibbard's sound...interesting
American Love--- Not too crazy about the "electronic" bits in the chorus...the rest is ok
Annie use your telescope --- Again with the Ben Gibbard sounds...
Suicide blonde-- It has a part that reminds me of The Klaxons-- Not over yet
Lillaby -- Soft...but at this hour (1am)...dangerous! Zzz...
Caves -- A much more pleasant sound than American Love...I didn't like that one.
The Resolution -- "I need light in the dark as I search for the resolution" The best line.

mood: mixed emotions

  1. Travis - Some sad song
  2. Switchfoot - The blues
  3. Anna Nalick - Wreck of the day
  4. Radiohead - Paranoid Android
  5. John Lennon - Isolation

There's nothing here worth saving,
Is no one here at all?
Is there any net left that could break our fall?

It'll be a day like this one
*****************************
In the rain

Bad news and tunes
Shining from the high
Singing some sad song

***************************************************
And maybe I'm not up for being a victim
When all my resistance will never be distance enough

Driving away from the wreck of the day
And it's finally quiet in my head
Driving alone, finally on my way home to the comfort of my bed
And if this is giving up, then I'm giving up

****************************************************

People say we got it made,
Don't they know we're so afraid?
Isolation...

**************************************************

'Cause everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

*************************************************
Im so thankful for we are strangers when we met
*************************************************
People are moving together....
We are all in the dance...
**************************************************
We all shine on....

Después de ver un poco de vh1 me trauma:

A) Kid rock + sweet home alabama= desastre comercial

B) el regreso de los new kids on the block. de acuerdo cuando tenían
menos de 20 años se veían curiosos con ese nombre. Ahora mas de 10
años después del fracaso de sus carreras como solistas y varios
realities después...new kids?? Para mi sería mas bien como old kids
that went broke.
